Meet the Team

Dr. Evan Lewis, MD
FRCPC, CMLE, C-CAT(P)

Co-Director, Neurologist

I am an adult and pediatric neurologist with a focus on epilepsy, concussion, persisting symptoms after concussion, functional neurological disorder including functional seizures, and the use of medical cannabis and psychedelic-assisted therapies in the context of neurologic conditions. I hold an adjunct academic appointment at the University of Toronto and my clinical practice and research are based in Toronto, Canada.

My approach is patient-centred and collaborative. I aim to understand the whole person behind the diagnosis and to tailor care that is evidence-informed, compassionate, and practical. Much of my work focuses on conditions that sit at the intersection of neurology and mental health where patients often struggle to access coordinated, meaningful care.

As a co-founder of Homeward Therapy, my goal has been to bring high-quality, interdisciplinary care directly to patients and reduce barriers to recovery. I have extensive experience counselling and treating patients with neurologic conditions who are considering or using psychedelic-assisted therapies, including a range of regulated and emerging compounds, as well as medical cannabis.

Alongside clinical care, I remain active in research, education, and advisory roles related to medical cannabis and psychedelic medicine. My goal is to help patients feel informed, supported, and empowered as they navigate complex symptoms and treatment decisions.

Dr. Bramilee Dhayanandhan, Ph.D., C.Psych.

I am a registered psychologist with extensive experience supporting individuals with trauma (including complex and developmental trauma, grief and loss, and PTSD), as well as anxiety, depression, and challenges with emotion regulation. I also have specialized training and experience providing psychedelic-assisted therapy delivered under medical supervision. In this role, I have supported adolescents with treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, complex trauma, and functional neurological conditions, and witnessed meaningful improvements in psychological functioning among those who have not responded to traditional therapies.

My therapeutic approach is trauma- and attachment-informed, and draws from dialectical-behavioural, cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and family systems frameworks. I strive to help individuals explore and untangle entrenched patterns in thinking, feeling, and relating. Therapy focuses on increasing insight, emotional regulation and flexibility, supporting a more integrated sense of self, and more adaptive ways of coping and relating.

I have worked across hospital-based and community mental health settings, and am currently co-director of North Toronto Psychology, a mental health clinic supporting individuals across the lifespan. My work is grounded in a commitment to fostering resilience, both within individuals and in the relationships that shape them. As co-founder of Homeward Therapy, I bring the same relational depth and clinical rigour, supporting patients in integrating altered states of consciousness into lasting psychological insight and change.

Co-Director, Registered Psychologist

Dr. Angela Kertes, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Co-Director, Registered Psychologist

I am a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology, with competencies in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. I have extensive experience working with adults with a wide range of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship and interpersonal challenges, and adjustment-related difficulties.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I aim to provide an empathic, safe, and non-judgmental space in which clients can explore their concerns openly. I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individual rather than applied as a one-size-fits-all model. To support this, I integrate evidence-based approaches drawn from attachment-focused and humanistic therapies, motivational enhancement, cognitive-behavioural and dialectical-behavioural strategies, emotion-focused therapy, interpersonal models, and psychodynamic perspectives.

In our initial sessions, we will explore your current concerns alongside your life experiences and personal history. Throughout therapy, we will work collaboratively to identify meaningful treatment goals, make sense of your experiences, and support lasting change.

I have worked in hospital, community, private practice, and university counselling settings, and am currently the co-director of North Toronto Psychology. In addition, I have a special clinical interest in psychedelic medicine and have worked as a psychedelic-assisted therapist. As co-founder of Homeward Therapy, I provide assessment, clinical oversight, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy within this unique treatment model. In this role, I support clients through preparation and integration, helping them translate psychedelic experiences into insight, healing, and meaningful, sustainable change.

Registered Nurse

Ann-Marie Spindler, R.N., M.N.

With over two decades of dedicated experience in the healthcare sector, I bring a specialized focus on mental health and clinical operations to my nursing practice. I hold a Master of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University.

My clinical foundation was established through extensive work in psychiatry and adolescent medicine at a leading academic hospital. In this environment, I focused on providing family-centered care, ensuring safe therapeutic environments, and delivering advanced practice education to nursing staff.

Beyond my clinical background, I have served in senior leadership roles and these experiences have honed my skills in leading multidisciplinary teams, fostering operational excellence, and providing mentorship and coaching. I am passionate about applying this diverse expertise to collaborate with our wider clinical team and support our patients on their journeys.

Registered Nurse, Master of Nursing

Talia Kertes

Administrative Coordinator

I am the Administrative Coordinator at Homeward Therapy, and I support patients from their first inquiry through each stage of their treatment journey. I manage incoming requests for service, conduct initial screenings, and help guide patients through the intake and onboarding process with care and clarity. I work to ensure that every interaction is welcoming, respectful, and responsive to individual needs.

Alongside my administrative work, I study industrial design with a focus on accessibility and human-centred thinking. This perspective shapes my approach to patient care, informing a practice grounded in empathy, clear communication, and thoughtful systems that support both patients and clinicians.

We do this work to transform lives where conventional treatments have fallen short. We take pride in removing unnecessary barriers and delivering care that is clinically sound and deeply human.
